It has been just over a month since our last post and with the lock down and good weather than has meant plenty of time in the garden. We have removed an old chicken coop and extended the garden railway. Put back our stepping stones in the lawn. The veg patch is fully planted, the potatoes are doing really well, the french beans and runners are all coming up, radishes, red cabbage and sweetheart cabbage. Tomatoes, cucumbers and chillies in the greenhouse growing on well. Stay Safe everyone.
We were asked for the first time to show our garden at the 2020 Open Gardens event. Unfortunately we had just started to get into the garden with some warmer weather when the lock down was imposed and many events including the Open Gardens was cancelled. However we thought we would share some photos with you of our new vegetable garden, 25 year old forsythia bonsai in full bloom, Acers beginning to come into leaf, and those naughty gnomes. We will update you on progress in the coming months. If you would like to share photos of your garden on this blog, please email the photos to the administrators, Bob, Barry, Jackie or myself. Many Thanks.
The society has cancelled the following events.
- April & May members meetings including the Spring Show.
- 2020 Outings Programme, cancelled in its entirety at this moment in time.
- 2020 Open Gardens event in July.
- Plant Fair in May.
If the current situation improves we will revisit the programme in the coming months.
